Who do we appreciate??

Gramma Lynn....

sunshine.bmp (178394 bytes)

For more than 9 months, we have had a woman who supported us through thick and thin.  When pregnancy got us down, she was there to pick us back.  She was someone to confide in.  She was someone to laugh with.  She is Gramma Lynn.

She has her own family...her own grandchildren.  Yet, she adopted ALL of us and our children!   She probably holds the world's record for the most grandbabies...(as long as they count cyber Grandbabies!!)

So Gramma Lynn...this page is for you.  It includes little things all of us have collected or found that remind us of you.  We can't thank you enough for all that you have done for us.  This is just the beginning...We love you Gramma Lynn...

~Grandma's Creed to Live By~

Do not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Do not set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.

Do not take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them, for without them, life is meaningless.

Do not let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past
nor for the future.
By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.

Do not give up when you still have something to give.
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

It is a fragile thread that binds us to each other.

Do not be afraid to encounter risks.
It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

Do not shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love.
The fastest way to lose love is too hold it too tightly.
The best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Do not dismiss your dreams.
To be without dreams is to be without hope.
To be without hope is to be without purpose.

Do not run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been,
but also where you are going.
Life is not a race... but a journey to be savored!

Gramma Lynn's first post...

Subject: Want a Grandma?
Date: Sun, 22 November 1998 08:19 PM EST
From: LJK234

Hi Everyone...
My name is Carolyn and I am signed in under my MIL's account. I had my first son last August. I am here to introduce my MIL to you all. Her name is Grandma Lynn. When I was prego, we had a Grandma named Sandy on our board who "adopted" us all and has since joined us on the August Mommies board. She was a great support to us all. Knowing how wonderful my MIL is, I suggested she join the new August Mommies-to-be and be their "Board Grandma." She's
wonderful and will be very supportive to you all throughout your pregnancies just as she was to me during my pregnancy. So...here's Grandma Lynn - I promise she'll be good to you all....

Hi Everyone..
Carolyn has been after me to "adopt" a pregnancy board. Do you think she's trying to tell me something........ like get a life???!! Anyway, if you'll have me, I'd like nothing better than be your adopted Grandma, and I promise I won't harp or nag any of you!!! I would be honored to be here for your support and if you need an ear to listen, that would be me!! If you'd like some company, let me know! Good luck to all the expectant mommies!

"The August 99 Mommies are so lucky to have been 'adopted' by our wonderful Gramma Lynn! Gramma, you have been so supportive as we made our way through anxiously waiting to show, all the way to our due dates (and beyond). Whether we were complaining about leg cramps and swelling, or rejoicing at good test results and seeing ten little toes on the ultrasound, you've been there to listen! Thank you so much for being a wonderful friend :). Your online 'family' loves ya, and your own family and grandkids are truly blessed! Thank you for joining us!" --Heather (Alt09)

"I came across the August 99 Mommies board by accident, much like I met Gramma Lynn.  With no family of my own to support me during the rough 9 months I was about to endure and a husband who is awfully sweet and caring but just doesn't get it, Gramma Lynn was my saint.  When my due date came and went, she was there to send special hugs my way and make sure that I was alright.  And she has done that not only for me, but for everyone else.  Her children and grandchildren are very lucky to have her and so are we.  Thanks Gramma!" --Heather (HeatherJ)

It was so nice having you be our Gramma for our August board. You always had great advice or an encouraging word. Thanks for taking the time to share our pregnancies with us!! --Regina (OhRe)

This pregnancy has been so different for me because my mom moved to a different state. I don't have the same support from her like I did with my other two pregnancies because the distance can really create problems. Gramma Lynn has been the "adoptive" grandma on our August Loop for as long as I can remember. She provides encouragement, well wishes, and the shoulder that some of us need. I, for one, am surprised that someone could stick around on the board so long listening to all of us complain! LOL Thank you, Gramma Lynn, for making our board a little brighter and for being the grandma that some of our little ones need. --Michelle (CShel)

I really appreciate the fact that Gramma Lynn joined our board and shared our pregnancies. She was always there to encourage us, and to share all of our ups and downs. She was extrememly supportive througout my whole pregnacy and the rollercoaster ride of Carly's birth. I am so happy that despite having her own children and grandchildren, she made time to get to know us and our babies!! --Michele (CarlysMom)

Gramma Lyn, Thanks for all the encouragement, kind words and laughter you have shared with us. You are truly a special person to open your heart to a bunch of pregnant strangers!!!! --Suzy (MySuzy)

Thank you so much for being in our lives! I will never forget when she sent congrats when Noah was born at 29 weeks. It was a very difficult time & her thoughtfulness meant so much. Nadia, Noah & Brad love you Gramma Lynn! --Nadia (Lilly)

This pregnancy has been so difficult, form the oligohydramnos to the PIH, and grandma lynn was always there to give me an encourgaing word. It is so great that she spent her time here to help us all through this wonderful, but sometimes difficult, journey. Thanks grandma Lynn!!!! --Kristin (Km)

Gramma Lynn, you are a doll!!! I've enjoyed your support and fabulous humor throughout my pregnancy! You are one hip gal and a lot of fun!! Your family is very blessed to have a great woman like you. Thank you for sharing your kindness with us. -- Andrea (Puffy)

Gramm Lynn, you've been our cheerleader for the past nine months. You've kept track of birthdays and knew just when an email would brighten someone's day. Thanks for the support and humor and wisdom you've shown us..Love Sina and Christopher!

Gramma Lynn, I came to the August board in the middle of my pregnancy, but you welcomed me just as if I was a long time friend. Thank you for caring about my baby and I can't explain in words how your tender words and thoughts have touched my husband and I both. Stay sweet. Your family is extremely lucky to have you, as we are here... --Barb

I joined the board pretty late in the game, but it didn't matter, you made me feel welcome. You even wished me a happy birthday & I didn't think anyone knew!! You've been here to listen, provide words of wisdom & have offered encouragement when we thought we just couldn't take anymore. You are truly a remarkable person=) Thank you for adopting us=) -- Angie (Puzzle)

Gramma Lynn has been such a tremendous support to the August 99 Expecting Board. It was truly a blessing to know at least someone would remember a birthday in the midst of everything else going on! I can say I had the most honorable pleasure to meet Gramma Lynn when she came to visit me and my new bundle in the hospital. She is just as thoughtful, considerate and caring in person as she is on the boards. Thank you Gramma Lynn for taking us all in and providing a little shelter from our storms! We are all blessed to be loved by such a wonderful person.   Love, Joi and Cody

We were all so fortunate to have such a sweet and caring person to support us. You hung in there, listening to us moan and complain during the 9 months of our pregnancies. You must have nerves of steele!!! We could always count on words of encouragement from you. Thanks for being such a good Gramma to us. Your family is very lucky to have you. Happy Grandparents Day!!!!! Paige(Pmac)

You've been such an asset to the August board community. I think these days are more difficult for new moms. More moms are working full-time jobs or perhaps live far away from their own families and don't have the same kind of support that families used to provide to young moms. You have provided the missing link for some of the new moms here. Your words of kindness and encouragement have been so appreciated. Thanks! Julie Anne and Caleb

Gramma Lynn, you have been a wonderful addition to our online family. I am so glad you decided to join our board. It has been so nice to have someone as supportive and caring as you around during our pregnancies and beyond. Thanks a million=) -- LaRonda and Courtney

Words alone cannot express how wonderful you are. You have been a tremendous support to all of us! Thank you for all your kind and encouraging words of wisdom. I hope you continue to stay with us as we now journey onto motherhood! -- Wendy(wsrj)

I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my sincerest thanks to G-ma Lynn for all her support and kindess over the past 9 months. Back in January I started to spot and thought for sure I would miscarry. I was really scared and depressed and didn't know what to do...so of course I posted to the board! Well almost immediately I got an email AND a greeting card from someone named Gramma Lynn who told me to hang in there and that she would be thinking of me. Well that little gesture made me feel SO great, especially coming from a total stranger! So thank you G-ma Lynn for all your support and lending us your shoulder to cry on. You are the greatest virtual gramma there is!! --Becky & Spencer (Bonsey)

Gramma Lynn is WONDERFUL! She is avery sweet, kind and strong person, who always had something supportive to say throughout our pregnancies. What a selfless person to take the time for each and everyone of us each and every day. She always knew how to say just the right thing at just the right time...just like my Grandma here! Thank you for all you support and wonderful words of wisdom to help us all get through the journey of pregnancy so we could all live the joys of motherhood! Felisha

Gramma Lynn, The August '99 Mommies have been very blessed because we have you in our lives. You've supported us through thick and thin. You have always been there with kind words of encouragement and support. You've laughed with us, and you've cried with us. We are very lucky to know you and love you. Thank-you from the bottom of my heart for everything that you've done and for the wonderful person that you are. Andrea (NoJunk)

Beginning from the first day that I found the Expecting in August boards, I was warmly welcomed into this close-knit "family" of Mommies-To-Be.  I also received a hearfelt welcome from a woman known as "Gramma Lynn" I thought it was very sweet, but didn't think much of it then.  Until my first real post. It was the first post that would let all the women get a glimpse of who ME really was, and I was terrified!  Gramma Lynn was right there, and 100% accepting of me and my thoughts. Since that post, she has been nothing but helpful, loving, caring and ALWAYS there when I had needed an ear, or some {{{{{}}}}}}'s ! I have the utmost respect for this woman, and it only grows each and everyday!  Thank You Lynn for all of your supportive replies and kind words! I only hope you know what they meant to me this past year, and hopefully in the years to come! You are one great Lady !!!! ;-)  All of our Love, Kelly, Melissa and Krista!!!

Thank you for all the support you've shown all of us. You are so kind and good hearted!! I appreciate all you've done to make these past months go by a little easier. Thanks for caring about all of us!! You are the GREATEST Cyber-Gramma!!!  Kassi and Haley

Gramma Lynn, I want to thank you for the wonderful support you have been (and continue to be!). Although both of Rebecca's birth grandmas are still with us, you will ALWAYS be in our hearts as her Gramma. : )Love, Jenni, Garrett and Rebecca

As a fellow "Jersey Girl" I always felt your were right by my side during my pregancy - you managed to always make me feel good if i was having a lousy day or share in my joys when great things happened. Although I have a mother and love her dearly, my grandmothers have both passed away - and there is noone like a "gramma" to turn to when you need some love or words of encouragement. Thank you for being my "Gramma"  Love, Mikki ( mik1093) and Tony ( and Tess sends a hug!)

Gramma Lyn, I want to thank you for everything you've done for all us mommies. Not only were you there for encouragement and hugs when we needed it, you remembered birthdays and other special occasions as well. Thank you for making us feel so special. And thank you for all your prayers and thoughts!! You were truly the bright spot on our board. Love, Jackie and Jacob (and the rest of the family too)

Dear Gramma, Thank you so much for being here as both a cheerleader and a support pillar for all of us! The only kids luckier than ours are your children's children :) May each and every one have long and wonderful lives. I know they are lucky indeed, because you are a true blessing.   Sara

One can never have too many grandmas!!! It's been so wonderful to have your support and encouragement throughout this pregnancy . You never let a post go by without some uplifting word. How you kept up with all our gabbing, I'll never know...but you did! Thank you so much for adopting us. I hope you stay with us forever!  Christy and Bren

Gramma Lynn, You are such a sweet and thoughtful Gramma, and have been so wonderful to have on the August Board! You have been strength when we needed, wisdom in our naivety, courage when we were scared, and full of smiles and love to share with each of us. Thank you for sharing your kindness, love, strength and wisdom with us, as you are the Bestest Cyber Gramma! Love,   Nita & John Parham

I was so happy to find the August 99 Moms board. Everyone was just so supportive and excited to "count down" the months until all our babies were born. And our biggest supporter, confidant and friend was Gramma Lynn. She is always just so thoughtful....when my older daughter turned 3, she sent her electronic bday greetings (Gramma Lynn took note of her bday just from my signature line!). I was the lucky one to get Gramma Lynn as my secret stork! And because she went out of her way to send me thoughtful cards and wishes (she even somehow had the cards postmarked from different states to throw me off!!!) I kinda suspected it was her before I found out for sure! We are so blessed to be members of her cyber-family.
